Hmmm.. I just had my 2009 w9 at kw.. Puffing blue smoke up hills and fuel mpg is horrid... Well they said my fuel system was sucking air and my intake was loose.. Got it fixed and everythings okay..

Commin down thru bama tonight... My truck really started pourin light blue smoke.. Then just stopped... So I ran my manual regen when I parked... I don't know what to do.. My ecm is up to date.. I'm just tired, like everyone else, having a 200k motor and smoking worse than those early 90s petes with 2.5 mil on em.. Btw.. Checked turbo, pressure checked seals.. No turbo problems here... Just blowing blue smoke randomly.. And in large amounts...

Well boys ive had my cummins with a dpf for 2 1/2 years now and mine does the same, shudder and smoke but it got worse after i started using 5% biodiesel blend to the point where now my stacks are black on the in and outside, and everytime my ecm got updated i would loose a mile per gallon for about a month then it would come back slowly but never as good. Now the truck is getting 5.1 miles per gallon instead of the 6.4 it used to get and cummins said there is nothing wrong with the engine so it is getting traded off and i am getting an older truck without a dpf i've had enough.

My buddy has an 08 389 pete with a 485/500 cummins and has had this problem since it was new. Local cummins dealer had factory reps. plug in some type of computer and ride with him. It showed nothing. All they do is say they dont know. Seems to run fine and its not temp related. Dose it in the winter and now with the warm weather also. Says hes done loseing time sitting at the dealer and is just going to run it.

possibloe turbo, have dpf ck could be cracked, we have had 3 of the all ready.
the white puff is supposedly normal going down the rd as it is in the regen mode at that time, this is from 3 different cummons mechanics from shop to forman to bigdog all 3 are from different places

Same truck, same engine has 90000 kms in 15 months. Has me about broke from down time. Good luck with Petershit or Cummer. No lemon laws in Canada not that it would matter looks to me like they are more for the dealer/manufacturer anyway. Stuck with the piece of #### owe too much on it can't trade. Pete/cummins combo ####### junk.

Had a tech tell me that the smoke is from the diesel used to burn off carbon in the DPF. After following a truck identical to mine and smelling the raw fuel from his truck I can see some truth in it.
