That's a pretty neat idea, but most of the places I unload at don't have the room for all that messing around. Where I load it has even less, forget about it.

If I could pick a trailer it would be a spread axle that would lift the front axle on the trailer when empty. -
The Challenger Thanks this.

I am looking for info concerning an actual fork lift mechanism mounted on the back of a semi-tractor that could be used to load and off load containers from a flat bed trailer. Seems like it would take a hydraulic pump, some fixture to attach to frame rails and cameras or spotter so you could insert the forks.

Palfinger crane mounted on trucktor ore trailer is better. May be used with fork ore with hook.

I run one of these trucks. They are called a Masterlift 5000. I have a single axle International 8100 with my lift, works pretty good. The reason these trucks were made were to eliminate piggybacks. The pain of them is yes you half to unhook your trailer a lot. I can lift 5500 Lbs extend out 14' and still get everything from one side of my trailer. I can unhook, unload 6 separate pallets, and hookup in about 10 minutes. They can be put on a double axle but wont lift as much. Nice thing is with a single you can get around good and can see what your doing.
Ops85 Thanks this. -

do you know how much it cost
and question for others
why your trucks dont have crane often i see more forklift on back
here we only few operators use forklift on trucks ( couple of guys who drive beer and few trucks which are used for delivering furniture)
we more use cranes
when you cruise on highway around my city about half of trucks have crane: log trucks, trucks used to haul construction material , tipper trucks( i used to drive one) , trucks used for recycling ,.....
we count that truck with crane can earn at least double than one without
is it problem for you price or weight?
here is one interesting thing by austrian palfinger
