are you sure that 144 530 use 10L more than r580?

    that is -2mpg

    164 580 use 0.8-1L more fuel than 124 420 hpi that is -0.2mpg

maybe if truck is no longer in good condition but even than looks like too much

anyway scania 620 have better torque and power curves than 580 resulting slightly better fuel economy now on 730 scania have dropped sweet point to 1000rpm (r620 1200) and it extends up to 1600rpm and it is available over larger torque area scania now recommends 1000rpm as cruising speed

anyway they recently compared 6 different trucks from v8 range and on big hill

r500 with 2.71 diff ratio ( or 3.4 and overdrive) and 315/70 tires have 67.6kmh in eco mode in 10th gear /70.4kmh in power mode in 10th gear

r560 with same drivetrain has 71,2kmh in eco 10th gear 75,5kmh in power mode also in 10th gear

r620 with 3.27diff ratio overdrive and 315/70 has 78,5kmh in eco mode in 11th gear and 83,4kmh in power mode in 11th

r730 with 3.4 diff ratio overdrive and 315/70 has 81,3kmh in eco in 11th
and 85,1kmh in power mode in 11th

r730 with 3.27 diff and overdrive also 315/70 has 82,4kmh in 11th in eco and 83,7in power mode in power in 11th

r730 with 2.92diff ratio and overdrive also 315/70 has 79,5kmh in eco in 10th gear and 82,9kmh in power mode in 10th

I have never even driven 379, what the heck are you talking about? I bought my first and only truck after 3 years of being company driver where I was doing job so dedicated it needed best equipment available on the market, so I was glad to move out of sh*tty VolvoVN into Peterbilt. Which I'm driving for 5 years already = 8 years in total. I'm not on "island" - I work hard every day. So my wife and kid can have a good life - that's the whole point of it

Your problem is that you don't listen all you do is monologue where you can trying to prove (to yourself) that you are right in what you do. Thing is, you are not, you commit failure after failure, according to your own writing

Because you are typical case of faithless Western European generation grown to be slaves to your London bankers. Thats why you hate what I'm saying - you hate it because the truth hurts

Absolutely , 2 mpg difference, your calculations are perfect! The work I do is very heavy, always over 40 tons on very mountainous terrain the 530 really was that much harder on fuel, also I bought it brand new and was maintained by scania and was in excellent condition when I sold it, I think it had Alot to do with the fact the 14 litre engine had much less torque thus u needed to rev higher and they just didn't hang on in the hills as good.

A friend of mine had a 620 on the same work as me and yes it gives better performance and fuel economy, definately higher torque engines with lower revs are the way to go, another friend of mine got a guarantee from scania the 730 will do 11 mpg, he has bought one and is getting it in a couple of weeks! I'll let you know how it goes although it probably won't give accurate figures until it's run in properly.

Ahh here we go " fantasy island" complete with satanist plots ( hate to burst your bubble but there's no satanist plots or even a Satan or a god for that matter)

Here you say you did it all with 500 dollars and no help from bankers , later you say you paid for it in 19 months, who exactly were you paying for 19 months? You keep contradicting yourself and then try to steer away from your obvious lack of knowledge by insulting people directly, you are what's called a jack**s!

can you give me specs for your scania which diff ratio you have which gearbox ( grs900 or grs905 or maybe grso905) which tires you use

here was very often to buy 3.08 and 315/70 because we often drive off highway

there is one with 3.27 and 315/70 and one with 3.4 and 315/80 now runs on 315/70 this is 1640rpm at cruising speed

Whats is skipping your satan-brainwashed mind is WORK part of it. I have worked dam* hard every single day to do it. And used bankers to finance the truck - but screw them by double-paying every month. So, needless to say they didn't make a fortune on me.

It's not that I'm insulting you. I'm insulting whole materialistic, godless Western Europe - bunch of sheeps. You are only incredible example - perfect example of what is going on there

I'm not sure what ratio the 530 was but it had 315/80 tyres and did 90 kph at 1500 rpm, a few friends also had them at the time and theirs were no better
