I was wondering what other's are getting for oil pressure out of a cummins ISX? I have a 2008 cummins ISX 500HP in a Pete 388. Oil pressure runs about 35-38 while warmed up and running 1200-1400RPM. In my old CAT the Oil Pressure ran 60 +/-.

That's normal oil pressure for an ISX. I've had several different ISX's from pre-egr to dpf in company trucks.

Thank you both. I was very concerned I am on the east coast today and its hot and humid out. I'm running AC and pulling pretty steep grades and oil pressure goes between 30 and 35 or so. Stopping to idle it will drop to about 25-30 or so. Idle up to 1000 and its 34. Not sure how accurate the gage is.

Any other tips on cummins would be much appreciated.

Keep in mind, it's a 2008 with the DPF, 200K miles, and seems to be doing OK. Certainly a bit different then my CAT.

    Thanks.

The previous owner used Delvac so I stuck with it. In my CAT I always used Rotella. I just had a PM done using Delvac with Fleetguard filters. comments?

As for additives such as lucas, to be honest, I've never used them. Since this motor is still on the 'new' side with only 200K, I'm not sure I want to introuduce them as yet?

my oil press is always above 50 at 1600 rpm's or higher. 75 at start up until it warms up, then gradually drops, but no more than 50. no less than 30 at idle. even with 9000 miles on oil. 95 11.1 ser 60 det.

Our first Volvo came with an ISX engine. After the first oil change I noticed that the oil pressure at idle was around 30PSI. Called Volvo who informed me that this was normal for an ISX. Nothing to worry about.
