I just got into this 07 379. It has the rear ac/heat control that is mounted underneath the pillar. I slept in the truck last night for the first time and i turned on the rear ac control on the dash. Well the back lighting in the ac control was so bright i couldn't sleep. I couldn't find anyway to turn that backlight down. Do you have to have the parking lights on for it to dim with the dash lights? I didn't have my parking lights on, so it was either shut off the bunk ac and turn the cab on max to stay cool or turn the bunk ac on and try to look away from the light. Any suggestions? The manual was no help.

I would be interested in this also. I have a 388 2008 model. Similar problem. Was thinking about just hanging a towel over it...

Try velcro strips and a piece of cloth, like a big washcloth. It cuts it down enough that its not a spotlight.

Ok, thanks for the replies! I guess i just thought that a pete would have the option to dim or shut off that pesky light. I don't really want to have to tape up my new truck, but i guess thats the only option.

Try to open it up! Take the bulbs out.

The backlight is very bright and annoying. Take the four screws out of the panel its enclosed in and either remove the bulb, or do what I did and replace it with a red bulb. Plenty of light to see the controls, but nowhere near as annoying.
