I am replacing the (4) batteries in my KW this weekend.
I want to totally remove the stuff and clean it and replace parts but was wondering how these are hooked up?
The dealer told me either (2) for the starter in parallel and (2) for the cab or all (4) are in parallel. That wasnt much help.
Here are what they look like now:

cut the wire ties holding everything together.
leave the cables hooked up,but pull them apart to where you can see which way they are hooked up.
get you a pen & pad & draw a diagram of how they are hooked up.
take apart, clean & reassemble according to diagram. -
.... now that sounds easy... -
-
or you can do what you just did and take a pic of them and then look at the pic to make sure you have everything back right.

I removed some of the #### that the prior owner ran right to the batteries but there is one black wire (with fuse) that has KW sticker labels on it. Not sure what thats for..
-
well make sure it gets hooked back up! looks like there are 4 main power and ground cables, so that tells me 2 are for starter, and 2 are for the truck. just from what I can see in the pics.

I am not sure how to clean these battery connectors though. They are all rubberized but for the very center that slides onto the threaded stud on the battery.... -
you can spray the ends with some kind of cleaner and then scrape them as best as possible. ive used a knife or even a screwdriver.

Hanadarko Thanks this.
