    TriPac APU Alarm Codes

So I looked all over the internet for a TriPac APU Manual and the Alarm Codes but I did some 2 Hours of looking for my manual and it was under my bed in the Cab (Which contains all Alarm codes on page 30).

For all those having problems with there Tripac APU then here is all the Alarm Codes for it!

TriPac HMI Controller alarm codes are:

EnG: This code indicates that the "8" circuit has a failure. This can be caused by an open engine reset switch (resulting from low oil pressure or high water temperature) or the Main Power On/Off Switch is in the off position.

    ALSO
this 1 is also common if there is air in the coolant lines, if you recently had the trucks coolant drained for any reason and the apu was not bled of air, then it will throw this code also

AcS: This code indicates that an abnormal air conditioning system condition has occured. Typical cause are high discharge pressure or low pressure. (In my own words your APU needs Freon)

ALt: This code indicates that a charging system failure has occurred. This code will occur if there is no alternator output after 2 minutes of operation.

To clear Alarm Codes, use the HMI Main Power Key to turn off the TriPac system.

This is straight from the Manual and these are ALL the codes (except the "In my own words" part). A lot of people are trying to find these codes so here they are! Any questions just ask!

mine throws an alt code and shuts down occasionally. problem is it is charging the entire time. i have a power inverter with a digital voltage readout and when the tripac kicks on i see that its charging, but it still trips the code and shuts it down. any ideas?

Probably the alternator is weak. What is the inverter reading when it comes on?

you may want to have them reset what the kick in/turn on voltage is. I recently had mine set up to 12.6 volts is when it comes on, so the batteries do not get as deeply discharged, and the alternator does not have to work as hard and as long to recharge them.
I have about 8400 hrs on mine, and on the 7th alternator, but this most recent one, with the higher turn on point, has lasted longer than any of the others.

This can also occur if your belt (to the alternator) is slipping. Common for this to happen as the belt ages. I was told it was the alt, then the tech told me "just change the belt". Been working fine ever since.

Also...on the EnG code...this can be an open circuit breaker on your control panel. Usually on the side of the panel. Just needs to be pushed back in. This can happen if there's a stall as the engine fires up and spikes the power to the circuit.

wonderful! thanks for this thread. My APU stopped today and when I got to Cali for a break, I sweated it out for over an hour before I thought to search the forum. Eng code, reset breaker on control panel and it's cooling down in this sauna now. Thanks to all who contributed.
