hi all,
i just took my 2005 volvo isx cummins to a cummins shop and was told all 3 title items were bad ( turbo, egr and cooler). now i drove that truck with no problems or codes on my dash. i did notice black smoke few weeks ago, but it was on only for an hour or so and havent seen it since. 2 days ago i was coming on to the freeway and boom, i lost the power, boost was down on 0.i pulled over and looked, no oil from the turbo, fans and baldes are good, engine works the same after unpluging egr and no leaks from the cooler. now is it psble for all 3 things to go bad at the same time ? is cummins trying to get some money out of me ? what could be wrong ? i thoguht seal was bad and loosing preasure in turbo, but i guess not ? please help
2005 vovlo isx, bad turbo, egr and cooler ???

Check your turbo control valve. Its a small box with air lines mounted under the air compressor (At least thats where its at on a pete) Turn the engine on and idle up remove line on the turbo actuator and should be air coming out of it.

If the egr cooler did go bad, it can take out the other components. Happens alot. Coolant heat and the soot combined causes the vanes in the turbo to stick and the egr valve to become stuck.

isx has problems with the egr systems dont know how many i replaced
