idle shut down

    does my truck, 93 freightliner, cummins n-14, have an idle shut down program in it? Last night it shut off after idling and would not restart for a while. Has run fine all day today. I think I saw something on here about that but cannot find it.

    I think that the celect n14 are able to be programmed but it depends on what the previous owner asked cummins to do (idle shut down or no idle shut down).

    Depends on the set up options. If it's set right you can turn the cruise on and bump it up with the set switch to about 800 and override it. Try that.

    I'll try bumping the idle up, thanks.
    Is there anything else that could cause this. Weak fuel pump,etc.?

    thats not an idle shutdown timer. it would start back up when you tried starting it again. you could have a bad fuel shut off solenoid or something

    driver told me he did not turn key switch off and then back on before trying to restart engine. told him if it happens again try that as maybe computer needs to reset. Yes/no?
