I saw a 379 where a guy put a floating floor in it that he bought from lowe's, just cut to fit using the outline template of the floor he took out. To keep it from scarring up, he took a bath mat that goes around the bottom of the toilet and had it wrapped around the bottom of the seat. I don't think he spent more than about $80 on everything.

My son did the same thing in his 09 Peterbilt Tri-Axle dump truck and it looks neat! Couple boxes of laminate floating floor from Lowe's, a little time and done! With the help from his friend they did it in a day.

At the California bug station, will they check your wooden floor for termites?

Thanks again guys! Do yo also put it in the sleeper or just leave the carpet in? Does the flooring need to be any certain thickness?

I have pre-finished oak hardwood in my 03 Pete. The previos owner did it but said there wasn't much to it, just a little time in getting the details to fit just right. It is a working farm truck so it sees a lot of abuse and dirty boots. If you get a quality floor it will hold up ok. I use the orignal pete rubber floormats in front of each seat and that is where all the wear and abuse happens anyway. The hardwood goes back through the bunk of mine. It looks much nicer and is so much easier to keep looking nice than the old carpet. On mine, the carpet only came out then the hardwood went down. I think the seats came out but that was it.

I've seen wood floors in trucks and they look great, but I'd be afraid they'd be real slippery if they got wet from melted snow or rain off your boots. I've got the regular 'ol vinyl in my truck and it's very easy to maintain.

wood floors belong in trailers--i want something nice comfy and warm on my toes while i drive--if they are looking nasty---clean them and vaccum them--in my last truck i put the tailered carpet over the factory carpet when truck was new--was soooo nice to wake up and have a soft floor
