High beams are not getting power. Truck is a 93 freightliner. with light on and low beams working the steering column lever does not turn high beams on. There does not appear to be a power supply to the lever switch.
All the relays in the center circuit box seem to be ok.
Is there a high beam relay some where else on the truck?
Is it possible to run a wire from the light switch on the dash to the wiring on the steering column lever? I've had the lever assembly apart and the two wires the go to the dimmer switch are very thin, it's hard to believe they can carry the voltage needed for two headlights.
My other thought is to add a toggle switch in the dash and jump from the light switch to it and to the high beams. Not my first choice but I need to got em working.
    Help me out fellas.

I can't help much here, but can say that there's some pretty smart guys around here that will offer some good advice. I've had my share of electrical gremlins myself and can sympathize. This forum has helped me immensely!

relay probably inside, on a Pete it's behind a panel in front of your left foot. See map on panel for headlight relays, check fuses while you are at it. You will need a test light. No rewiring or rocket science needed.

There are 2 relays in the circuit breaker panels for the headlights labeled right and left. I am assuming they are for t5he low beams. Is there a seperate relay for the high beams?
Where would it be located on a 93 freightliner?

i'm not sure. there are no so old trucks, but may be high beam is directly switch controlled. and no relay, but there are fuses/circuit brakers and try to measure voltage on them. may be switch went bad

look in center cover breaker area--on left side towards the top--might be hiding under the black air tube for floor heat
i wouldnt start rewiring things like that--best to find the problem and fix it correctly

Problem solved. I feel foolish, turned ignition switch on and high beams work.

    OMG!!!!!!!!!!
I don't feel quite so bad now, having spent 20 minutes crawling around inside, under, just all around my truck, looking for that little 10mm wrench that was in my back pocket.

It is European thing. On European cars and truck low beam lights are on whith ignition on, sometimes with engine running only. Flash to pass works with ignition off only...
