I think everyone thats replied to your problem are steering you the right way and my input on the problem is if its not the water pump its your radiator cores internally I know a person that spent about two thousand at the dealership doing a water pump thermastats and a radiator flush that didnt help at all for this same problem. The problem ended up being the internal part of the radiator cores were all deposited up and the air blowing across the cores didnt cool it very good. The radiator was clean and free flowing on the outside and the fan was working good it just made it run about 15 degrees hotter all the time and when it hit hills it would heat up like a two dollar pistol. after all that work he had the radiator recored and it totally fixed the heating problem. You can also replace the radiator but usually recoring it is alot cheper than a new one.

To check that pump yourself all you have to do is take off that small 3\8 line that goes into the top of your cooland resorvoir and stick it in a jug and start up the engine. If thats pumping out coolant the pump is working and even if the pump pressure is down 3 or 4 psi it still wont cause it to heat up like yours is doing. Im gonna say its your radiator itself causing this problem I have seen this a lot at the dealership thats where I worked for four years but now im at a fleet company closer to home doing the same work.

My truck isn't running hot my Rad is only about 2 yrs old. This is a internal problem for shore it scored number 6 liner it never went over 205 and oil was about 180. My truck runs about 180 and oil is about 150. That has been my normal temps since I bought the truck 4 yrs ago.

Sorry I replied to the wrong person. But after reading your thread i would say it had a injector tip come off and burn up a cylinder. probably somthing dumb they did at the shop, no offence to them but I dont think your injector trim codes were the problem. I worked at kenworth for four years and Ive seen them guys get into a hurry somtimes to make good time and this is the kind of problems it causes. They should take care of this problem by rights. obviously they don't think it was the trim codes since they already looked at them so the problem really falls back on them not you.

Thank you to everyone for your thoughts in my problem it was back in the shop and they found several bent cooling jets. Some one bent them while putting it back together.

That's right could be many factors, have you check for water leaks?

Mine is a Bxs in a T-600 also and has 1,030,000 on it still runs great.Find a competent NON-CAT garage to run the overhead correctly I'm guessing you have a turbo out mine ran hot all the time. I replaced the turbos ran great for about a week then started getting hot again, retightened all the clamps on the turbos and the CAC plumbing and all is good again. it doesn't take much to get a Cat out of whack. Get all your mechanical issues solved before you call Mr.Haney. My motor makes 50-55 psi boost depending on the weather exhaust temps almost never get over 900 degrees. Water heats up to about 225 and the fan comes on and cools it off to 195 then the fan shut off and the cycle starts all over again. Before I replaced the turbos 35-40 psi boost was all it would do and the exhaust would jump up to 1100 almost instantly and the water would get hot enough to shut down if I didnt quit pulling on it.
