All the cats I've driven run up just short of 240 on the oil on a long hill. I've never lost an engine so I'd assume that's normal. I've never seen it cross that 240 line though.

I have a 2002 379 with a 6nz c15 475 horse motor it was just rebuilt about 1000 miles ago it has a pdi stage 1 turbo and a marine cam shaft and 5232 trim codes and after 300 mileage it has blow by so bad it looks like its on fire it is missing real bad. I called the mechanic that did the work and he said that's normal and at mile 1000 it started knocking and shaking and missing all at once it has since been towed home for him to look at. I stopped at cat and they said the blow by is something inside of the motor. Does anybody have any ideas what might have went wrong. Please help.

The Cat parts or aftermarket? They could fail from improper installation

with those trim numbers you may have scored a liner. it wont show high egt's until its to late. 5232 trim numbers are not a good idea if your injectors are not matched good enough. you probably had one injector running hotter than the rest and that will be your bad cylinder.

    2002379peterbuilt Thanks this.

I have been running that trim code for 1.5 yrs and no trouble. Cat put them in and cat told me they were safe to use and that would not hurt anything.
