Neighbors truck broke down in florida its a 05 t600 with the c15 accert bxs i replaced the spring in transfer pump last Friday and ran great from here in milwaukee to laredo. Monday morning my buddy had to go to CAT in austin and they found a faulty injector, replaced that and ran ok. Now hes in Chicago and KW says the wastegate is faulty and they have to replace the entire assembly they quoted about 4500. Is this crazy or what. As far as i know the waste gate main purpose is to keep turbo from creating boost and routing exhaust to downpipe. I havent messed a lot with these acerts. Im gonna grab my lowboy in like 3 hours and go pick it up and start tomorrow morning. So were should i start. They said turbo is ok no damage to compressor wheel or cracked housings. The truck has no boost gauge so im gonna have to add one and measure boost. A driver mentioned me that inside teh compressor theres a valve that always sticks on these Acerts can anyone shed some light on this. If i disconnect the waste gate ill reduce fuel effiency but truck would be drivable right? I have a 35 psi waste gate off a detroit vs the 25 psi oner on the truck would this work? And lastly would this relate to iva's or injector wiring harness by any chance. Thank you for your help and sorry for writing a book here :biggrin_25525:
