Anyone know how these digital thermometers work? Mine worked fine. 3 days ago it quit working. The next day, it worked, but showed celcius instead of farenheit. The next day, not working again.
The lights work when turning the key on, but the thermometer and the lil doohickey that tells me there is ice on the road does not work normally.
I have called 5 dealerships, yet no one seems to know how these things operate. Is there a switch somewhere? How did it change from farenheit to celcius in the first place?

The gauge is made by Teltek out of sparks nevada. These gauges are warrantied for life. You mail them that bad gauge and they mail you back a new one. I had one go bad years ago, I'd be in Miami and it would read ICE.....lol

didnt know they had a lifetime warranty, thanks. the problem with mine is that when it gets down to around freezing it will show less than what it actually is, anywhere from 10-20 degrees or it will go from higher than the alert to lower than the alert. gets annoying driving at nice when it flashes all the time.

Sounds like you have moisture in a connector somewhere. When it freezes it changes the resistance in the gauge. Might be a connector might be the gauge itself.

is there a switch to turn it on and off? or to make it read farenheit or celcius? I do not have that digital dash
This is factory installed in the driver mirror. -
The sending unit is what goes bad and cost me $20 at the KW dealer. Mine was inside the motomirror. Drill 10 rivets out and change it. The motomirror style is the only replaceable one.
