its sitting in the same lot that i have been storing an old pickup of mine
its a 74 mack, only 500k on the chassis, has a fresh (as in been drove around but not worked) 350 cummins turned up to 400 horse. has a fuller 15 speed (i suspect that it might be an air-shifted triplex?) new recaps on the back needs fronts obviously. the worst rust you can see at the bottom of the cab in the pic, and the interior is in ok shape for being a 74.
I guess that the guy that owns it just went to the old folks home and would like to get the 7000 he just put into the drivetrain (engine, clutch and what not) seems a bit steep for the rest of the trucks condition. but nonetheless would still be a neat old fart to have.

Memories. Thats an "F" model cab. Thanks for posting this.

That is a nice looking truck to have and finish restoring. The price tag does seem a bit steep though. Sad thing is you never get the value out of repairs that you put into them. It would be a shame for it to rust away into nothing though.

yeah, im considering making him an offer on it when I get back. paint it up and spice up the interior a bit, dual stacks, replace the bumper. put it to work during harvest and keep it around as a toy hauler the rest of the time.
I tell you what though, info on this old fart is tough to find! -
I have one of those.A 73 model. Was still working up till 3 years ago.Got all the parts to totally restore it.All I need is a good steering box. That was the reason we retired it because even if we put a kit in it it would leak after a couple of weeks. If we get round to rebuilding it I will post the pictures.

That's a nice looking old Mack, I'm sure she paid her dues. It would be way cool for hauling your toys! You could get one of the big toy haulers painted to match w/ a small SUV, like a Zuki and a bike, and be set to roll! Guess what I'm planning if I ever win the lottery!

I tell you what though, info on this old fart is tough to find! Get the VIN # and send an email to the MACK musuem , and they will send you the build sheets on the truck for a small donation.
