I'd rather listen to a big truck with straight pipes running next to me than some reefer startin and stoppin all #### night. I like straights. Maybe it's because I started out as a bullhauler and I have the "Outlaw Cowboy" streak in me. I drove a Cornsheller with a "U" in place of the muffler. It was loud, obnoxous, and I loved it. I will say it is nice to be able to jake in town with my 05 Pete. But it is so quiet. Which makes some people happy I suppose but it kinda stinks. I like some rumble. I suppose I'd put a small resonator on. If it is the law now. I'll have to look it up again. If the goverment keeps this up they'll try and put speed limiters on all the trucks. And try and change the hours of service for lazy people. And try and make us run electronic logbooks... What? They are? Who knew the Natzi's took over and didn't inform the rest of us???

Straights look better sound cool, put a small resonator under the cab turns the noise down but still sounds cool, A:keeps DOT at bay B: keep some from b(tching about it.

    the end

I drove a T-600 dumptruck had a Series 60 and a 13 speed with short straights and a resonator. It was loud and obnouxous. Loved it. Except the whole Detroit torque problem.

I was gonna buy straights for my international but i'll make due with a high flow muffler since the rule change I don't want problems wit the DOT...

I just went from a 99 FLD with a straight 8" stack into a 387 Pete that I can't tell is even running LOL!!

The plus side is not having to park way in the back and facing my stack (bull-turn) to an empty field or away from a truck, and the non-drone of mile after mile isn't there anymore.....

the downside is not having the LOUD jake that I would use to get 4 wheelers up to speed quicker when coming down an exit ramp or, as we all know, that likes to pass you at 70mph, then slow down to 62mph after making it infront of you, causing you to have to slow down. Just one "whapp!" of the straight jake usually got them going again!
