    Thanks Mr. Haney.

Truck had 1,350,000 on it and developed cooling system pressure. Removed head and found gasket blown at 6. Took head to machine shop to test and they said it is cracked in 4 places. Engine has never gotten hot and ran great, Any thoughts?

I would be installing a new thermostat, and test your old one to see if it was the issue. To test old thermstat, find out the heat range of it then place in a pot on the stove with a thermometer in it so you can watch and see at what tempreture it opens. and look to see if it opens all the way

You need to have someone check liner protrusion. I'll bet you a $100 that number 6 is low. If you put the head on without checking liner protrusion or raising the liners back to spec...............you'll have it blow the head gasket again. The gasket could last you 100 miles or 100,000 miles, but it will blow again if its a low liner.

Exactly correct with a 5EK at 706K miles. Bit the bullet and did an inframe...:biggrin_25521:
