I need some better fuel milage. I am buying a newer truck and trying to decide between a Freightliner Cascadia Detroit 13 sp and a Peterbilt paccar 13 sp. Any suggestions.
Freightliner or Peterbilt.

that Paccar engine is gonna be a fuel guzzler......a friend of mine has one in a new 660.....his best mileage was a run to Florida at 6.1.....other than that he's getting 5's....he's had it in KW to get flashed already too.......he'd rather have the cat in his old w9...he consistently got 6.6 with it

You can not base the purchase of a TRUCK based on the My neighbours wifes sisters babysitters 3rd cousin knows a guy that !
Go ask a few drivers that drive the trucks your thinking about , FREIGHTLINERS got a website that tracks 4 CASCADIAS on a daily basis
http://sliceoftruckerlife.com/wherearetheynow.php , good info there.
PRIME has some guys posting on here getting decent fuel mileage on CASCADIAS. -

Why don`t you just get a real truck?KW of course. The real key no matter the brand has as much to do with the driver as it does specs.Just kidding about the KW part...

Um gee SEEING I was not referring to YOU or your FRIEND just offering some generalized ADVICE. Other 2 posters offered good advice not
rocknroll nik Thanks this. -
Well anything is better than the 4 mpg route we just took. C15 ultrashift in a 05 International 9400I. Pulled a van with it and it's a midroof with no fairings on top. It's just the wrong gear plus that fairings gone. Didn't think that the fairings would make much difference but it does.

It all adds up in fuel savings , Roof deflector 6% Full roof fairing up to 15% increase , 15" cab extenders 2% , side skirts on the tractor 3% , areostyle bumper 3% , get rid of thye bug deflector 1.5%

They only sell Coronados now. They have about 100 2011s in stock with 300 more ordered as of a couple days ago.
This is supposed to help with mileage also - http://www.airtab.com/main.html
