its an indistructable motor but if your set on using one get it with a cat retarder. but be ready for some shock the motor is heavy and the retarder adds about 1200 lbs plus the extra motor oil needed to work it. like some of the other post said 3406 or newer is a better choice.

I gotta be honest though, I've owned a few big cams back in the day and I loved them. Injectors were around 80 to 100 bucks, new pt pump, 5-6 hundred, overhaul kit dirt cheap.

So easy to work on I felt like I was playing with Legos when I was putting them back together. You could make them run good too.

Yeah you can make a BC run well and they are cheap to work with. That's one reason I love em.
I also do sit ins for some of my older friends when they have something else to do. For some reason my Trucking buddies are in their 60s and one in his 70s.
One guy has a 93 379 with a C model paired with a 9spd that does well evreytime I've drove it for em.
Another friend who passed close to 2 years ago has an 85 359 with a Black model. He did some work to that one I'll say lol. It'll pull. He passed from pancreatic cancer so I spent quite a bit of time in that truck. As a matter of fact it's still under his barn where I parked it last. I would like to have it but I don't think his wife is ready.
I've also grown a small fondness for the FLD Frieghtshaker. Those are good trucks. That one has a series 60 that ain't never gave an issue when I asked it to pull for me lol. 20141025_102914.jpg This is the 359 I speak of. Me and my buddy was running sweet taters that day. At the end of the day he came up to me and said he felt like he had pull a muscle in his groin around to his back. I picked at em about his age blah , blah and it turned out he was at stage 4.
