Hello , was really set to buy a 243wb 2007 Volvo vnl780 / 565 Cummins / 13 sp ,...but in the last moment i changed my mind ,just because of EGR and electronics .
Now i am in market for 2 trucks , either Peterbilt 387 2001-2003 with cummins N14 or C15 Cat or a Volvo Vnl770 2001-2003 with N14 or ISX Cummins i really like both trucks.
I also look for 13sp, 22.5, 3.58 or 13sp 22.5LP,3.42 , engine must have 1850 torque .
I drove in the past these setups as driver and i got some amazing 7-8 Mpg and had only few problems , very good experience in the past.
At this point I plan to keep the truck for some 15 years , of course i will give a new paint to the cab and frame and invest some 30-40.000$ in the truck later on to keep this looking like new mechanically and aesthetically.
I found right now a very nice 2001 Volvo770 with 730.000 miles/1 owner powered by 500HP/1850T ISX Cummins for 20000$ ,...what you guys think about the early ISX ? ,...any particular problems with this ? is truck ok with 730000 miles ? owner say it takes 1 gallon of oil after 15.000 miles and average 7.3 mpg .
TXH for help.
Early ISX (non-egr 2000) , any particular known problems ?

I've never heard anything negative. Always heard good mileage and reliable. 1 gal after 15k is not bad.

n-14 or c-15 are my choices, with c-15 being far and away #1
i own an early isx and im not a fan. -
I bought the truck , very clean Volvo VNL770 13sp 24.5LP Cummins ISX 500 # 1850Torque ,3.42 Rears, i really love it , on Cummins dyno 460Hp ground .
