So today I was looking the truck over as I have my annual DOT on Monday, and found that the wastegate hose has split in two. Now I have only had this truck for a month, so what problems would this have caused as far a drivability? I have noticed that the truck had a very loud turbo/whine and that the boost would only build to about 25psi. Would this have also caused some bad MPG #'s???

If your ECM is stock, I'm surprised your yellow "check engine" light isn't on. That split hose will usually throw a code, and may even cause engine to "de-rate"

on an MBN, boost is usually around 28-30psi. Replace hose with Cat, or dealer part; (the others don't seem to last as long). Boost may come up a little after replacement, but ECM is designed to hold boost to 32psi max, IIRC. Whatever you do, DO NOT pinch off hose for more boost.

Makes sense. Last week I came hard off a light and was into full boost when the "CE" light came on and derated the motor. Also, it would pop on every now and then when I would fire it up but only that one time when I was driving it..... anyways, I replaced it with the best hose I could get till I can get the correct CAT hose which was high-pressure fuel line from NAPA (just as thick, just not teflon) so i think it should hold till my dealer gets the hose in for me.

U can wrap the hose with aluminum foil, and it will last a long time.Heat is what kills the hose.

LOL that should work.I've had the good red hose on mine for over a yr with aluminum foil with wiring tubing around it,and it'sstill good and not brittle.
