busted trans

well this week sucks. knocked a tooth off a gear in my trans in cumberland md had to drop my oversize load on an onramp shoulder. limped to a shop in hazelton wv.(exit 29 on I68) Mels truck repair, very good people. rebuilt my trans. and put in a new clutch. $4100, not a bad price! the people that had this truck before me did a patch job on the trans. i would like to rip them a new one. but thats what happens when you buy used. OH well back to work.

 

when i bought the truck i saw that the trans had been out of it, kind of had me worried but thats the chance you take when you buy used. the md highway patrol have treated me real good on where i droped my load. 13.1 wide 14.5 tall 131000lbs sitting on the shoulder of an on ramp. called them and they said it would be ok. hope to have it out of there sat morning and to a truckstop. not much choice on where to park a load like this around cumberland anyhow.

 

i didnt say police escort i just notifide the police. depending on the state a certain width you need an civilian escort. 13.1 wide md required 1 rear escort.

 

heck there isnt a road anywhere around here that is straight. alot of nice people though.
