Hey everyone,
Have a 2000 Volvo 770 and its having some clutch issues. When I go to release the clutch, sometimes the clutch releases at different points. About half the time it releases fine, but the other half is wishy-washy. Sometimes there is no pressure in the clutch pedal. Could this be a slave cylinder/master cylinder issue? Please help! Thanks!

It probably blew apart take the inspection plate off and see if there's anything falls out I just did a clutch in one two weeks ago same symptoms
-
sounds like it may be the pressure plate, if so make sure you replace the clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing, and clutch brake
-
Spring has come out of clutch plate? As jstjames13 said take off inspection plate and look for pieces.

if you are not replacing that stupid slave cylinder at least once a year, then you have been super lucky. If you can't see the slave underneath, check and see if the master cylinder is empty.

could be some air in the system as well--iird you can bleed the system and then try it
-
Well guys, we replaced the slave cylinder first and that didn't fix it. We then moved on to the master cylinder and that did the trick! Thanks everyone for the help.
