Im workng on a 2008 Mack trash truck that has the following fault codes
555-Crankcase pressure - Data valid but above normal operating range. Moderately sever level
556-Crankcase Pressure - Data Valid but Above Normal Operational Range - Most severe level
559-Injector Metering Rail 1 Pressure - Data Valid But Below Normal Operating Range- Moderately Severe Level
Anyone have any experience with these codes? Im trying to figure out if these codes are all related or they just happened at the same time. My theory is that it needs a lift pump but Im not very experienced with diesel diagnostics.
    Thanks

crankcase pressure is too high when vent is bad ore piston/ring is bad. but usually it is bad sensor issue.

559 - low fuel pressure... is it stored code ore active every time engine running?

555 and 556 is for the breather filter on the side of the engine. There should be a large plastic looking box at the front left corner of the engine. There is a crankcase filter in there that is overdue for changing. I don't see a 559 code in my list, but if you have low fuel rail pressure changing fuel filters is the first thing to do.

Another mechanic changed out the fuel filters and screen. This truck has had a lot of mechanics work on it so Im not sure what alls been done so far.
It's a stored code. I cleared the codes and after driving it under a load the 559 code comes back but the crankcase pressure codes dont. I was told that the transfer pumps for cummins suck but I dont know. I know the fuel pressure sensor has been changed.
    Thanks

Are there any testing procedures for crankcase blowby?

Open oil filling neck and wnen engine is running check for pressure with hand..

about code 559... check for rail fuel pressure with Insite software. if it drops under load look for "cheap" problem first, like filters, tank ventilation, air in fuel, bad fuel lines....

There are two fuel pumps - priming pump (used before start) and gear driving pump. This pump may be worn, may suck air/oil, ore drop pressure under load

559 is not related to ISX. He did say he had an ISX, so that is what I looked up, oh well...

559 code is used in ISX (low fuel pressure, as I remember stores when fuel pressure is lower 14 BAR), and it it used in popular in Europe Cummins CRD engines when common rail pressure is lower engine needs (it varies from 300 to 1000 bar depending on engine speed/load and controlled with NPROP solenoid and 559 code is stored for too many reasons on CRD engines)

Anyway it is not a good idea to work with these codes and have no info from freeze frames to know when codes are stored

I have 482 for fuel pressure low. This is for ISX CM871, ISM CM876.
I see 559 for a CM870. So my bad for that.
559 is likely going to be a bad front fueling actuator. If the fuel pressure is actually low you will still get a low fuel pressure code 482. Since you are not, it is very very unlikely that there is a blockage in only the front bank of cylinders and not the rear. 559 when the ECM is detecting the engine is not accelerating properly when any of the front 3 injectors are injecting. The front fueling actuator solenoid is responsible for letting the fuel to the those front 3 injectors. Sounds like that actuator is going bad.
