I find them alot more comfortable than Volvo but it's very important to match the right suspension to the truck, for instance : I've been in 6 cylinder models with 3 leaf suspension, it doesn't work because the engine or a small cab aren't heavy enough to compress the suspension properly making a hard ride, should be 30mm 2 leaf with that type truck, also most v8's are 3 leaf because people want the bigger bumper but 2 leaf 32mm is by far the most comfortable with a topline cab and v8 engine but it sits very low to the ground so you must have the small bumper. some of mine had the 2 leaf springs and big bumper but they would scrape the ground with heavy braking, air ride steer is extremely comfortable especially on a 6*2 where it handles much better .Volvos are a little rattly on our unique roads.

Im a mechanic and i have driven many different types of trucks. I have to agree with most of these post when they say longer wheel base. Also any front suspension with air bags such as volvo's and freightliner coronados. My personal opinion is volvo has the best ride quality.

...and almost any truck will benefit from a good three-axle alignment, and dynamic wheel balancers. Centramatics for instance (any will work) damp a ton of vibrations and smooth the ride out VERY noticably.
