I'm a owner operator I have a 07 Freightshaker Columbia with 475 hp and I'm going to upgrade. I am wanting ur opinion on which rig has the smoothest ride. My loads are normally 30000 to 40000 lbs and I run mainly in south with little to no hills.
Which Truck has the Smoothest Ride?

The biggest longest Volvo you can find ?
Anything will feel good after that columbia. Keep that as a criteria when shopping, test drive a few, and remember that you can always add Roadking shocks and a Bose seat for a small percentage of the value of the truck. -
I like Volvo VN and mercedes Actros ride, both trucks are really smooth.
Renault Marnum is good too. -
I've only driven one Volvo and hated it, it was real wishy washy and the cab felt like it was gonna fall off the frame when it was a rough road or really windy.. So I would say a Pete or a kenworth, longer the wheelbase the better

Have you or any of your trucker friends installed the RoadKing shocks to know from experience what effect they have on ride and handling?
Has anyone else who may catch this thread fitted the shocks? If so, to what suspension and what have you learned from your upgrade?Last edited: Jun 14, 2011

Sorry no first hand experience. I've read only glowing reviews of there performance, but after spending that much on shocks people will want to like them pretty bad. I've been considering them, just on my steers first. They are way down the list though.
Strider Thanks this. -
