After reading the previous 60 posts on this thread, if you have a good ISX, "Leave it alone".

You could end up shaking hands with the devil.

i had that problem with a isx I was leasing from CRST. They had a injecter recall at that time and after trying several different things replaced the injecters and it ran like a top. The injectors were leaking causing the engine to run too hot and when a ISX does this the engine derates the power to protect itself I was told.

Right on Packrat, it's called load sensing software. I drive a 2007 T-800 with a ISX 475hp and it runs the same way, no load it limits at 1600 rpm, loaded it will run right up to 1900 rpm. Good call.

yep.welcome to "cummins" they quit makin a good running engine in 04.the problem is the egr system.if you look at the intake manifold you'll see it funnels down in size between the air /air & the engine.on the bottom of the intake is a large nipple hooked to the pipe around the back of the block,to the egr cooler on the r/side.this is suckin/pumpin hot exhaust into your engine that requires cool clean air.if you pull the nipple out of the manifold you will see that it is allowing less than 1/8inch clearance for cool air to pass..call P.D.I. to fix your problem.it cost me 2150.00 2 years ago plus 300.00 to my buddy, cummins mechanic ,to remove all the egr garbage.worth every penny.

“I hope we shall... crush in its birth the aristocracy of our moneyed corporations, which dare already to challenge our government to a trial of strength and to bid defiance to the laws of our country.” ~ Thomas Jefferson, letter to George Logan. November 12, 1816

i reply to your Thomas Jefferson quote, not your comments :
" better to be beholden to those who have their bottom line in mind , than to Mindless Bueraucrats who promigate laws to which they are not beholden, for their only purpose is to enhance their own position , ensure their own prosperity , and you , Sir , can be ######."
PawPaw1 said that , and if you think an autocratic Government is better that a free people , pursuing their own self interests , then welcome to Obamaland.

Did you have this done? If so, did it help? I have the same issues right now and was told to check the fuel pressure going to the engine. If the turbo is kicking out, it might be from the motor not getting enough fuel to keep up power to match the turbo. The fix may be replacing the electric fuel pump. Does anyone else feel that this may be a solution?
