As luck has it, turbo is gone! Good news, I'm in Los Angeles but a dealer is pricing a new turbo for 3762.90 :biggrin_2554:

Is it really this price? Geez- I have been searching online and a good turbo kit is around 1300-1500. Any one know of a place I can pick one up certainly not for 3k+.

    Det ser. 60 engine.

    Thanks

    R.

I was going to say that you should be able to get one for less than half of the dealer's quote.

I was heading back to Canada from Salinas on a Saturday afternoon when mine blew up going over the hills between Fremont and Pleasanton. I got a new turbo from the Freightliner dealer in French Camp (about $1,200, IIRC) and after a roadside swap, I was good to go.

Check around some more, maybe call the dealer in Bakersfield and have one couriered to you. Or, someone will probably chime in with a good source for an aftermarket one.

    Good luck.

    P.S. What's "good" about being in L.A.? :biggrin_25523:

    Yes sir with EGR.

Lost N Found: lol, I figure the parts would be readily available and cheaper in the city. I guess I was wrong lol.

I'm calling the dealer in bakersfield, I bought the truck from them. Worst comes to worst, I stay in a hotel and order one online today. Have it delivered to the shop on monday.

To order a part for the engine you need the model number and serial number of the engine and they may need the last six of the truck serial number, besides the year and truck model.
    Happy hunting.

it turbo actuator ore EGR issue. Check for EGR delta pressure with DDDL. To be sure what is bad? EGR ore Turbo actuator

May actuator is blocked with soot ore bad EGR. So check for Delta Pressure first. If you are sure EGR is OK, look for turbo rebuild shop.
