Por-15 then top coat it. You can't hardly sand blast that stuff off. It will last longer than anything. Brush the por-15 on unless you have a down draft booth to use, and a fresh air mask and no exposed skin. That stuff is leathal when sprayed. Wear gloves when you brush it on tho, or you will wear it till its good and ready to come off.

I have used por 15 and chassis saver and as stated the sun destroy's them and if top coated you have to wait untill it is fully cured and sand it well or the topcoat will peel off. We use zero rust now it is a satin flat black and it sprays good with easy clean up you thin with laquer thinner and even when touched up months later from road debri or stones and such it blends and is hardly noticable. I used to buy it at a local auto parts but now i get it on line http://www.zero-rust.com/ we even paint our tag trailers and heavy equipment with the stuff.

i sand blast alot,i use a grinder in the outside of the rails to take out the pitting then reblast,i use nason full poxy primer and then coat with nason urathane and hardener,my truck is a bush truck and pounds gravel every day, this works and will last but yes it is expensive. but you dont need to do it every year,if you are going through all the work to strip it down and blast dont skimp out onthe paint and primer just my opinion, good luck, take your time.

I'll post some before and after pics of the project when I do it.
The zero-rust in black, for 1 gallon and also 3 cans of aerosol (with free spray handle) came to $99 including shipping. -

What is best to remove from the frame while snadblasting?
I'm wondering about rust getting under spring hangers etc.
