MicroBlue Motor Main and Rod Bearings Installed on my Cat 3406E

The oil had 100,000 miles on it and it was time to change, so I decided to drop the oil pan and change out the main and rod bearings in my 3406E Cat.

We will have it finished around noon tomorrow and on the road for some testing.

Don't really know what to expect, but if it is anything like the wheel bearings and rear ends, it should be smoother and maybe gain some better fuel mileage.

Still twin screw with MicroBlue rears and wheel bearings. I did change to Michelin X-One 455/55R22.5 Energy Super Single Tires. I like them and the Real Wheel Stainless Steel Wheel Covers make them look sharp.

The quality of fuel lately sucks and my mileage is down to 8.77 mpg when I filled up yesterday.

Mobil One 5W40 Synthetic with filters changed and oil analysis every 20,000 miles.

I normally go 60,000 miles, but the oil samples look good to stretch it further.

What I use to do is take the top rod bearings and wash them clean then tape them together and the same with the bottom mains, from 1 to 6 or 1 to 7.
Then we would take pictures and "E" mail them to the owner, or the corporate office maintenance department.
I am interested in what the bearings look like?

My fuel mileage is getting back in the 9s that is more from an ECM change on my Cat 3406E to the 600 brake saver program that replaced my Cat nox program. I had to change my driving habits because it moved my sweet spot lower in the rpm band that I now use 12th and 13th gear to lug down the truck to the 900 to 1,100 rpm range.

The bearings are doing great and I did it as a PM thing. The bearings I removed had another 500,000 mile in them because I use Mobil One 5W40 synthetic motor oil.

I have 13 speed tranny parts at MicroBlue now and should be ready to swap out and have on the road first of next month. I am upgrading my 13 speed from 1800 ft/lb to 2,050 ft/lb rating that I can have the ECM programmed with even more torque on the low side for better mpg.
