95 pete 379 a/c problems

    i replied to an older thread but just thought id start a new one..

    so i bought a 95 pete, the a/c doesnt seem to work, air is barely fresh... the guy who had it said it was working... when i cleaned the cabin filter i found it very very dirty, the guy who had it before me was pulling an end dump hauling dirt for the last 12 years..
    also the heater seems to heat just a little bit....

    how can this be fixed? cleaning the evaporator? i asked in the other thread where the evaporator is located and how to clean it... or what should i look for?
    all help appreciated... thanks!!

    Shut you heater valves off,and turn on your engine fan then feel the low side (the big line) of the compressor to see if it gets cold.
    If it is working the way it should the line should start to sweat with r143a and frost with r12.
    The evaporator is located behind the fire wall on the passanger side towards the bottom I think you can see it if you take the fan motor out then blow it out with air.
