Just got the MicroBlue treated transmission parts back to my shop to reassemble the remanned tranny with an upgraded 2050 ft/lb torque rating to replace my 1850 ft/lb rated tranny currently in my truck next Wednesday 12/28/11.

Should have truck back on road for some real testing to compare in January after some time off for the New Year Holiday season.

Can't wait to see the results because with exception of doing an inframe rebuild on the motor, this is the last item in the driveline for me to MicroBlue treat that I hope will put me closer to the 10 mpg loaded goal I am after even with the winter blend and bio fuel crap we have to deal with now.

I started MicroBlue treating parts back in July with the wheel bearings on my tractor, August with the both rear ends, December with the motor rod and main bearings in my Cat 3406E motor and finally the 13 speed transmission for January.

I do plan on pulling the B/W turbocharger (Pittsburgh Power) off to have MicroBlued during the Spring of 2012.

I am very happy with my results with MicroBlue so far with my current average for the month of December at 8.74 mpg even with the current poor quality of diesel fuel and weather conditions we deal with this time of the year. If some of you are on https://mygauges.com can follow my truck fuel receipts and odometer readings with truck name "Dice.s Truck" and first of year will change to "Dice.s Truck 2012" to seperate the 2 years.

Great work Dice....I've been doing a little research on Micro Blue surface coatings and it seems the racing fraternity swear by it...both in terms of picking up extra power on dyno runs and particularly in overall durability.

I'm eager to see how the extra resurfaced parts perform on your truck

Just picked up the truck with the new MicroBlue treated Super 13 Speed Tranny and made a short trip to pick up my pre-loaded trailer for delivery next week that also fueled up from last run I made.

All I can say so far is it is the smoothest shifting manual tranny I have ever used in anything from race cars to personal cars to several trucks I have driven.

I will have fuel mileage next week, but I also have 5 short OS runs to make from Birmingham, AL to Atlanta, GA Airport from Wednesday through Friday that will skew any fuel mileage numbers. The next week I have 2 dedicated runs that should make for a start to compare to previous numbers.

For 2012 I am changing to "Dice.sTruck2012" in mygauges.com to start fresh for the new year with fuel numbers.

Wouldn't it wear off fairly quick?

I was wondering how long the treatment lasts?
It is so thinly applied ,how long before it wears off?
Is there a chance of it flaking?
Dice , thanks for being the test lab rat.

I have been to the MicroBlue Shop and have been one of the few that have seen the patented process that is used to apply the Tungsten Disulfide that bonds to the metal rather than just coating it. It dries as soon as it hits the metal and it would take a lathe cutting tool to remove it.

I am not an expert on Tungsten Disulfide, but from what I have learned it holds the lubricant inplace never allowing the metal to touch.

MicroBlue paid to remove my rear ends after 14,000 miles to disassemble and study that I seen myself personally that their was no wear and the coating was still there.

The real test will be next summer to see if my fuel mileage is still up there when the fuel quality and weather is better than now. I have had some 9+ mpg in December even though winter blend fuel is in and the weather is already turning bad. My December 2011 average is 8.74 mpg and December 2010 was 6.86 mpg.

I will be happy in January and February if truck does not lose fuel mileage when history in the past always has the winter months as the worse fuel mileage months unless you run in Florida all the time. Last January my monthly average was 6.33 mpg with February being a little better at 7.06 mpg. January 2010 average was 6.70 mpg and February 2010 was 6.46 mpg.

Still early, but my January average so far is 8.98 mpg that is way up from the 6.33 mpg I had 1 year ago. The winter time is real hard to tell fuel mileage gains. If this was July or August, it would be real close to 10 mpg and it definately is an improvement. I just don't know how much yet.

I did have a 530 mile run with the light side of my dedicated run that is 48' dry van with around 15K in the box last Saturday that had perfect weather and a nice tailwind with low traffic at 10.23 mpg. It was almost a perfect run in perfect conditions and I bought the fuel used at a place I have never bought it before in Lincoln, AL that fuel quality may have been better than usual too.

    Stay tuned for more.
