Ahem! I know a guy that lives close to there that would look good in a new Pete. However I think he should get the biggest sleeper they offer since his wife would make him move into it permanently.:biggrin_2559:

It is Harrison, but the glider part of what they do is based out of Clear Lake. The Waterloo part is just a typical FL dealership. And Harrison is not the actual builder of the glider.. FL is doing it at another location. They then deliver the assembled glider to Harrison in Clear Lake who puts the final touches on it.

Regarding Harrison's service, have no experience with that, but then, based on where I live and where I run, getting into them for a service item would be extremely remote. But thanks for the info.

And I also figure that there will be the occasional issue, as with any new truck. But without the emissions junk, myriads of sensors, etc it should be easier to deal with anything that crops up. Everything will have factory warranties just like a new production truck.

well i talked to my local pete dealer here in canada about a glider and i hope he was wrong but the servc manager said the gliders are coming in up here at 140,000 that is just the rolling chassis. he said around 200,000 to rebuild and install a engine and transmission. i hope he wasn't right but wow that is rediculous. cheaper to buy an 08 or 09 pull out that emmission engine and put a 6nz in..

Wow. My Columbia glider that got put in the order system today, loaded to the gills, came in at $109,107 invoice. Not even using any of my own components.

For anyone interested, Fitzgeralds Detroit's come with a larger BW turbo and ported/polished manifold.

Also, they can title/ tag there thru Tennessee as a new truck. Then your state will title it as new when you transfer the title. Some states would otherwise not title it as new.

Always heard Fitz's sold lots of gliders to Canadians so maybe there is a grain of truth to what he was told. You have to think if they'd go to all the expense and trouble of importing one it was because it was much cheaper than having one built up there.

I tried to price one from a dealer up here.. the prob is, they have to be priced thru the parts dept, every single part... takes a couple days, and the parts guy never seems to have the time for it... the western star salesman, on the other hand, had prices, and depending on specs it will save you pretty big $$$ to go glider , plus the benifits of no garbage on the engines.
