I've got a '92 pete 379. The cleaners are the 13" regular steel painted ones. I have 7" piping, and want to convert to 15" (someone told me 13" was way higher than 15"). Called Peterbilt and they want roughly 4200 dollars for the canisters, brackets, and bands. That sound right??

Anyone know somewhere to get them cheaper? I see the chrome shops selling their "vortox style" cleaners for around 400 a piece, but are they any good? Thanks for the info!

I HAVE to change to something, because the ones i have, the studs that hold the lid on are rusting through and pulling out. They're just overall in poor shape.

pretty sure 460 from the factory. But its got a HOT button in it. Don't really care if it's 13" or 15", someone just told me 13" was way higher. Just thought since i was scrapping my current ones i would get stainless, but didn't know they was 4200 either. Exploring my options...

over stock 7" are enought. IMO, use pipes not less you have now, you'll get no HP gain but appearance is important

I have an 89' 379 that had painted steel Donaldsons. I bought Vortox's from Peterbilt years ago for $800.00 each. Peterbilt sells 2 different Vortox air cleaners. One is a lot cheaper, the only difference is the Peterbilt logo embossed on the lower edge. If you already have dual filters, I can't see needing to change the piping. Maybe bands, maybe bands and brackets. Piping is dirt cheap used as is brackets and bands. I don't know about the knock off brand filters quality. But you will love Vortox's, one bolt to change filters.
