well i guess 1and a half will not hurt. i also want to know the sustained rpms for pulling a grade.

i have about 1,5
-1.75 mil, mostly with a n14; but some in my old B67-673 mack. had to play the ivory with that oldduplex!! -
Only had expieriance with an 8 legged kitty kat that thing would pull grain grossly overweight about 17 to 18 range in a 355 catipillar .....

The safest hp setting is the one that it had when it left CAT. -
gentlemen i thank you all so much. i am a nut about equip, maint., and specs.!! i have only dealt with a B67mack ,and N14s until this cat. i tell you he has the torque; but i would like better mpgs. maybe i am to optimistic. pull 90000-105000 and get 4.7-5.o.

I've seen the 6 stock at 475 and pushed to 550 with pump work but was limited by cooling cap. My owner / op gave me a 3408 t/t and it was 600 stock. MPG was in the 3's all day but at the time we didn't care, the mission was tons delivered, not mpg.
B series is one of the last good ones and the #### thing was painted white.....
( pst... I saw you mentioned a dawg too, had one on the haul, a 475 V-8 2 stick job, bad dawg too, plenty of bite to chase our cats around )
