I think it was Tim Brady on Lockridge's show last week that mentioned that Schneider had a bunch rigs all go down at the same time with the EGR problems....Cummins according to him, quickly and quietly fixed the problems.....I'd like Cummins to treat the single pony O/O's the same way....

    IDK about anyone else....One day down means a loss of $500-700 revenue.....But apparently CARB...Nichols.....The EPA...And the OEM's...Don't care.....:biggrin_25510:

What I said was...In order to run as a Cali based carrier...We have to be compliant...That means purchasing a compliant rig...Which btw...Mine is not fully compliant....CARB and the DMV had a fit....My rig has a 550 with an 18 speed manual tranny....When I was looking and talking to the Pete dealers in Cali...The Cali spec'd rigs were typically 13 (If you were lucky) paired with a 475 hp engine.....I also pizzed the state even more....I took title in OK not Cali....The DMV tried to steal $12000 in taxes from me when I was registering the rig...One good thing about having Interstate Authority...I didn't have to pay Governor Moonbeam that money.....

    I doubt it...
Yeah....Last year I grossed enough to buy two brand new rigs...But you do know there is a huge difference between "Gross" and "Net"...

    Well thanks to Bottom-feeders like you....Brokers are passing off $1/m loads....And convincing Bottom-feeders like you...They're "Great Rates".....:biggrin_25526:

Oh yes...After I registered the rig with the Clean Trucks Program to gain access to all of the ports in Cali....I was emailed a notification from CARB explaining that my rig will be compliant until January 1, 2020.....CARB is in the opinion that the "Useful Life" of a rig in Cali is 10 years....

I run open deck...Not produce....But what I do know about the produce biz...It's not massively profitable to the trucker....
    How much do pay lumpers?
How many time have you had a load rejected?

I have never had a load rejected....
And I don't pay people to off load....If that ever happened...Most of what I haul could be sold and more than pay for the trouble of a dumbazzed receiver....

I'll give you reefer yankers a hat tip though....I can't deal with "Hurry up and wait"...

99% of the time for me...As soon as I pull in or yes...Even bump a dock....My load is ready for me.....

I don't know how you all can be that patient dealing with grocery warehouses....

I'm a van driver. It does suck. I've pulled into some grocery warehouses and its usually 2 hours before i get unloaded then an hour to be unloaded. It sucks. But I do get detention pay, even though id rather be rollin

Yep....I don't know how you guys can do it.....

I used to go to USS in Houston for pipe loads...Usually going to Rock Springs, WY....0700 appointments there.....You show up at 0630....If you are lucky....You get loaded by 1500....But that's how USS runs their loads....Paid good...Not great....But yes.....Even open deck loads can be sheyatty at times...:biggrin_2556:

Yeah. I'm just a company driver, but I tip my hat to you sir for doing open deck loads. Especially if you do over size
