Got a big cam 4 and cant decide which turbo to go with. I dont no much about the borg warner turbo. No onewants to give up the wheel specs on it. The holset is a 3801919 which is a ht4c.the local pete dealer has one on stock but im really curious about the borg warner because i have a guy that builds my turbos for my pulling truck with a cummins in it says he can build any thing i want. So if anyone has any specs it would be greatly apprecited. Im almost certain that the holset has a 85 mm comp wheel with a 26 cm ex housing but thats all ive been able to get from people. I tried talking the sales guy in to lettin me disassemble the holset but he wasnt goin for it.

As far as I know there isn't a comparable Borg Warner turbo to a HT4 holset, the 4lhr series from BW is just a little better than the stock HT3, and would be a little bit of an upgrade.

Does your turbo man know they are reverse rotation, there just aren't that many choices.

The 26cm housing will be laggy on a street truck. A HT3 or a HT60 will support almost 600hp and may be the better choice, what sort of power levels are you shooting for and what makes you think that you need to go with a bigger turbo.

Oh BTW Holset rates the HT4 for up too about 900hp, not saying it will support that, but it gives you a true idea of the size difference.

I'd start with injectors and pump work first, then when you need the air upgrade the turbo.

Also, it won't live like the cat at anywhere close to the power levels of the acert, if you do get it to 700 plus I would never let anyone else run it and never work it.

Go with the 4c its an upgrade to the stock HTB3, came stock on 444. the 26cm won't be have anymore lag than a stock 32cm on an HTB3. HTB3 i believe isa 75mm and a 4C is an 85mm.
