Freightliner Fuel Tank

    100 Gallon Tank and I can't put more than 80 gallons in it.Is this an expansion issue here are what exactly is the problem?

    The tank isn't empty to start with, and the fuel pickup line won't draw it completely empty, either.

    Run it out a then refill it, and you will know how far not to push it.


    BTW, many people consider a long stick or rod a proper fuel gauge for a FL.

    um, you see the little stamping on the side of the fill opening that says "Do not fill above 90% capacity , 100 gallon capacity"?

    Plus the tank is turned ever so slightly to the side so it's not straight up.

    Plus you will never completely drain it.

    Why would you WANT to know how low you can actually drain it and have it suck air.
