Ok, so I am maybe fighting a little out of my weight class here, but I want to get into turning up some of the trucks on our little mixed fleet of slightly battlescarred warriors. While adjusting such parameters as timing and fuel maps would be great I am more than happy being able to do things like detroit dealer programming and MBE 4000 stuff. Any help would be appreciated. I have a solid background in race car gas tuning and theory in deisel combustion, specific engines and thier quirks and limitations is still a bit of a mysery to me. So here's a thread to plead for help. Is there a good passthrough that works better than others? Someone have a good collection of engine specific quick tricks? EGR deletes? We run back highways, gravel roads and iceroads all over northern Canada so we got an exemption and emisions isn't even a second thought. I'm asking some pretty broad questions so any help would be great, even if I have heard it before.
Ecu tuning... hardware? software? Have done a lot of reading and want to start. HELP!

I would recommend Mr. Haney from this site, as I haven't read anything but happy customers with his tunes. I guess diesel spec is in Canada and does this also but I don't know anything about them.

I was more interested in getting all of the hardware and software to do it myself. We are pretty far from all of the pro tuners and retask the trucks fairly regularily. And yeah, I hear Mr Haney is THE guru around here. What say you, Mr. Haney? Help out the next generation of tuners?

Mr. IceRoadRehabMan:
Lil hijacking here but have a question for you. What are the prefered tires, treads, retreads etc for running your ice roads? -

Bully Dog is $$$ but once you have one you can change your tunes all you want with just an internet connection. I realize this isn't what you're after in terms of tuning from scratch your self. Like superhauler said, don't be to disappointed if no ones forthcoming with the inside hard earned tricks of the trade.
