So I am getting with the C-16 in my glider. Should have the core motor some time next week. I am not sure if I want to go with the turbo that Cat has when this is getting rebuild. Do any of you recommend a different turbo that will last longer and spool faster?

Mr. Haney can build a turbo for you that will be a non-waste gated turbo that will flow better than the stock Cat turbo and will lower your EGTs for the stock 600 setup. He can also build you a bigger turbo, flash your ECM, and tell you what parts to put in it for anything from mild to wild. It's all up to you and what you want to do.

I talked to my dealer and I was told that they will let me put his turbo and ECM in the truck and will cover it. I guess they have a bunch of guys running the stuff and said there will be no warranty issues if something does break... Looks like stage 1 ECM and a turbo for me soon...

WS dealer said that they will cover it. They said that are Cat OEM dealer (?) so they don't deal with Milton for warranty stuff just parts. Not sure how that works but that is what I was told.

    Cat sdp Thanks this.

Got it in writing but no go on the turbo, have to keep the cat turbo but they put in writing that they will warranty it with a PDI ECM.

I work for a cat dealer- CAT will NOT cover any resultant damage caused by an aftermarket device- any dealer caught installing it wwil loose their liscence, especially if it involves emissions (3000$ fine for tech, and up to 100000$ for shop) if the dealer is warranting it, it's not a CAT warranty-2 different things. I'm overhauling a brake saved 6NZ and he put on a bullydog non waste gate turbo, manifold and he lost any and all warranty for the $12000 I frame kit he bought, plus as a certified tech I have to report any and all aftermarket changes to cat ( including resistors on fuel and air temp sensors, plugged waste gate lines, etc) warranty is a touchy subject- it may be up to a year after the deale makes the claim and it can be rejected and they come back saying you have a bill to pay.
