07 international 9400i with 06 Cummins ISX cm870. Had tune-up (over head) done at cummins shop threw a 2359 code while there. They tested the turbo actuator and it was fine, they then put shop air to the air control valve and it was bad. We bought a new one and put it on. Also we replaced the EGR cooler with a bostech egr cooler just before the code came on. Did the procedure on quickserve to have fault 2359 go to inactive, but it still shows active. What to do next? Has anyone ever had this problem?

This is a some-what common fault. Basically that sensor is used to measure egr flow into the intake of the engine. This code is set when the ECM is seeing flow readings that it is not expecting giving the current engine operating conditions. Some common problems are carbon plugging in the sensing tubes, and/or carbon plugging where the tubes screw into the egr pipe. There are also some ECM calibration updates to reduce the fault from being set when there is actually no problem too, so you should check to see if your ECM is out of date. Once this code is set it will stay active until the engine is up to operating temp, then you shut down and key off for 30 seconds, then key back on. If the code is still active at this time, it is likely a failed sensor. If the light goes out, but comes on again when the engine is running it will need to be troubleshooted. Those stupid sensing tubes like to get seized after a few years, so they may need replacing if they don't want to come off nice.

    Bill43452 Thanks this.

appreciate the reply, when we had into cummins for the overhead they reflashed the ecm with the recent updates. we were getting codes for the egr valve and the update made that go away, now we are having problems with this code after the update

there are 2 little pipes that go from the EGR cross over pipe to the EGR diff. pressure sensor, you can pull those off and check for plugging and carbon buildup. Also pull the sensor and look in there for plugging. Most likely you will find your issue.

Hi there HeavyD, having this problem now, read up on a bunch of it, but all the images I can find seem to be for ISM engine, I have a ISX CM870, getting fault code 2359, also I saw possible cause for this being a damaged turbo control shutoff valve, and I just installed one of these a few weeks back, also did the exhast gas pressure sensor a while before that, wondering if I could have a faulty TCSV or if just clogged tubes... would you have any images of the location of the tubes I'd need to take off and clean out, before I start pulling stuff apart?

ok so I found the sensor tubes, 3 of em, cleaned em out, one was completely clogged, others very dirty, still got the same fault code, also cleaned the exhaust gas pressure sensor, that was a bit filthy too. do I need to replace the EGR diff. pressure sensor now you figure?

Did you run the engine up to temp, then shut off for 30 secs and then restart?

My truck is fully deleted and threw this code today. What would cause this
