Got this off another site for super 10
to shift a super ten transmission. you start out in first gear. which is all the way over to left and down. have the splitter button down. when shifting to second push the splitter up and ease off the on fuel. to shift to third push splitter down and shift to third gear. by move shifter up and over to middle then up. fourth gear push splitter up ease off and then on fuel. fifth gear push splitter down and slide shifter straight back. sixth gear push splitter up and ease off then on fuel. seventh gear splitter down slide shifter up and over all the way over to right then up. eight gear splitter up ease off and on fuel. ninth gear splitter down and straight back. tenth gear splitter up then ease off and then on fuel. to downshift is vice verses of upshifting p.s. reverse is all the way over to left and up splitter down for low. splitter up for high.

If you are an o/o run away from a truck with a super 10. If the former driver simply moved the stick to neutral when coasting above 40 mph, the gear box is trashed/fractured and waiting to break down on you when you have a heavy load on.

OK, for starters, a "super 10" is a 13 speed without the first splitter. On a 13 speed, you shift thru the first 4 holes, then move the splitter and now you split the rest of the gears with the second splitter. OR, you can actually shift a super 10 like a straight 10 ( hole to hole without splitting, either high side or low side). Yeah, I know, it depends on how much weight you have on your wagon, of course. Some guys get all messed up backshifting trying to split super 10's and 13 speeds when they can save themselves some grief and backshift from high side to high side or low side to low side.

And auto's are bad because?LOL

All the super 10 is about is split, shift, split, shift. It's basically a 5 speed pattern and you split every gear.

I just went utube and watched the eater fuller vids. I like it! 1-4 same same, toggle and shift. Split low and OD up, direct shift down. No problem. Just don't ever coast in N.

If you can't drive a Super 10 you will never figure out a 13 speed... you might as well cut your balls off and go TV...

Has anyone had any mechanical problems with these transmissions?
Someone touched on it a little bit, but my question is how is the transmission from an OWNER'S standpoint.
Not whether or not you like how it works, but HOW LONG does it work?
I would assume that using your splitter as much as you do, there's a wear item that will have to be replaced that much sooner. The auto-shifting 9/10 gear seems like that is something that would be an out-of-the-ordinary item as well. Has anyone had any mechanical problems with these transmissions? If so, what were they and what was the mileage?
Thanks a ton! -

Just so every one knows eaton fuller no longer make the super 10. They had a lot off mech. probs. When most large companies started going auto the demand for the super 10 went away so they were discontinued. I think 07 is the last year truck you will find them in. Their was also the lightning 10. It shifted just like the super 10 but the controles were electric instead of air.
I drove one for about 6 months. I HATED IT! It was the slowest shifting POS I ever drove. Ive driven several 13s and now an 18speed and the splitter shifts fast. That super 10 was as slow as an old Mack 5 speed. You could take a nap between gears.
