Greetings. I have a CAT 98 3116e motor in my c6500 and am looking for some more get up and go. I have searched and only found some wiring harnesses. However, what is the difference between the 98 3126 and my 3116e? Both are HEIU and the 3126, from what I understand, uses the same block (with the 3126 being a little bigger). I see a ton of electronic performance items for the 3126 for the 98 and up models and wonder if one would work on my 3116e. I have emailed TD but they did not respond. Any CAT people who could help me out would be great. Was looking at propane injection but would rather go the electronic route first.
Thanks,
Brendan

Wow, I would not ever consider doing anything. Those engines are the worst ever made. They burn oil, get terrible MPG's and have a low life expectancy. If you make it to 200k expect a rebuild soon. Or, expect the possibility of a rod blowing a hole through your block. These are not strong engines to play with.

Problem of these engines that they are oil sencetive. Really I hate HEIU.
There is 3106 engine. But it cant be used on highway trucks becouse of emission laws.
I'd do nothing, really. and I'm sceptic about propane injection. If you wanna use LPG ore CNG swap engine with ISLG. IMO, one of the best CNG engines -
Throw truck away and buy something with a 3406E in it. Those other two engines are turds.
