I am doing my first parked regen right now on my ISX. Its also doing it at 1100 rpm. 30 minutes and counting.

Okay it has now been 4 hours and still not finished with the regen. Is this normal? How does the ECM know when it is time to finish the regen?

My Volvo D13/ 2008 is running aprox 1-2 regen/week, every 2000-2500 miles and doen't last more than 20-22 min. I never do parked regen. When I got the truck new in july 2007,(2008 model) used to do it every day, but after some Volvo software updates works a lot better. I have 1,130,000 miles on original motor,(team truck), and i cleaned the original DPF twice only; , last year in July, i had over 900,000 miles,i took it for the 3rd cleaning, but was burned out, they couldn't clean it; i had to replace it; i bought a reman DPF filter , was about 3000$ installed. The DPF is not such a pain, but the EGR and the sensors are giving me more headaches, i replaced the original EGR last year in March, and again last week was gone. Still pulling great, my average fuel economy this week , 3800 miles, from Toronto to Laredo,Tx and back is 9.2 mpg.

Yep, was same with my Volvo, clear signal needs cleaning; take it in shop ,hook to computer and check the DPF status/clogged %, could be only bad pressure sensors on DPF.

Sounds like your truck is attempting to do a burn. Checking with proper cummins software would confirm but I'll bet your turbo isn't closing to at least 89% in order to get the exhaust inlet
temp at the dpf to 500 degrees or one of many other possibilities like the doser valve is plugged with soot and won't spray fuel to make it do a successful burn.

Mine is Volvo 2009 D13 Volvo engine giving hard time!!
despite using Antigel Fuel conditioner along with my Diesel ,water seeping into water separator filter ultimately getting msg on the dash Check Fuel filter . Slowly loosing engine power and stops on my way. First time on the very cold weather (minus 40 ) it was dead.I towed out from there. After replacing both filters ,same history again ,but managed to reach close by truck shop and replaced filters ( Fuel and Water separator)then I reached my destination. I dropped at Volvo dealer ,they diagnosed REGEN failed giving bunch of work order.
Cool Filter /Coolant Filter / EGR Cooler /Pressure sensor / Turbo kit
    REASON FOR MY DOUBTS
    1. Even with my dash sign Check Fuel Filter - Pulling power was great as normal
2.There was no starting issue, with a single stroke engine get started
Is there any way DPF may be the culprit. Can I get my REGEN process back if I get my DPF Cleaned.
I need some expert advice here .Please keep me posted what to do ?
    Thanks in advance

I have been having trouble with my '08 Pete with Cat C15 Acert Twin Turbo. It keeps saying "Regen Required" about every 150 miles. I keep stopping and regenning only to have it want to repeat it again after another 150 miles. I discovered a oil leak on the hard line from the front of the engine to the turbo. I replaced the oil line this afternoon...hopefully tomorrow it will passive regen so I don't have to stop every 150 miles to do a parked regen.

    fingers crossed.

If it is anything like mine was it will just continue to get worse. To the point it will shut your truck down. Mine sort of worked when I was able to wind it up and run it hard as hell always above 1500-1600 rpm.

There really isn't a set time for it. After resetting the parameters, they could go for 45 minutes, they could go a couple hours... number of things factor into it.
Another thing a lot of people seem to forget is that, just like any other service, these components have their own set of services which need to be done at regular intervals.. that means leak testing the dosing injector, and replacing the gasket and insulator. That means replacing the DEF filter. That means dropping the DPF, inspecting and blowing out the DOC, replacing it with a clean DPF (or cleaning the existing one), and replacing the gaskets. If you wait until a check engine light comes up before doing any of these, don't be surprised when you have a bunch of problems with the aftertreatment system.

My 2009 Volvo D13 is running regen 2-3 times a day.I have cleaned DPF filter and changed all sensors and 7th injector but still running regen couple times a day. Do you know how much software update cost and how long does it need to be updated

    Thank you
