I noticed a guy pouring a quart of Amsoil Saber Two Stroke oil into his fuel tank the other day. It was an older Pete with a Pre Emission Cat. Didn't ask any questions. Who else is doing this? I'm guessing doing this to the new Urea engines wouldn't be a good idea....

Yup 2-stroke oil is one of the best things to put in the tanks as its made to be burnt (other then diesel fuel additives)
Probably not a good idea with a DPF truck though. -
Based on testing that I read once, exhaust emission were less when 200 to 1 mineral 2 stroke oil was added to diesel, so from that I would assume use of it on DPF will be ok

1/2 oz per gallon is what we use.

I run a 50/50 mix of Power Service and 2 cycle oil in every tank. I use a quart bottle, put on bottle of mix in each tank. I buy the 2 cycle oil at Walmart in Gallon jugs.

My mechanic recommended ATF in the fuel to provide lubricity??

My mechanic recommended ATF in the fuel to provide lubricity. I use 1 quart to 200 gallons. I also found this additive that seems to have some science behind it. http://opti-lube.com/index.php/diesel-fuel-improver-summer-blend.html

Doesn't it coat the fuel filters paper liner and make issues? Thats why almost all two stroke intank filters are made of a different material. And some only use a metal screen type filter on them. Just asking. Also wouldn't it change the color of the fuel and if you get dip tested they could say your running off road fuel? If not to the questions why not use a ashless oil two cycle like lawnboy used so it would all burn up instead of leaving a soot behind?
