I purchased a 1994 Peterbilt 377 a few months ago and the Speedometer (and tripometer/odometer) & the Tachometer have never worked. The Cruise Control does work perfectly. When I click the Load Light Switch, the Tachometer Needle jumps a little. I have read some of the threads on this forum and did what they said - wiggled the connectors - but still not working. It really hasn't been a problem because I bought the truck to run off road at a landfill, but I recently got an opportunity to do some other runs and they pay me by the mile. Any Suggestions?

PS. The Speedo is getting some power because whem you turn the key on, the needle moves up to 0

jump across the wires at the sensor end ohm out the wires make sure the harness is good. remove the sensors clean off the ends and reset the gap. screw all the way in till it stops and back it out 1/2 a turn.

I didn't get a chance to Ohm out the wires because I changed the Speed Sensor out yesterday. That fixed the problem! Speedometer works perfectly. It didn't do anything for the Tachometer however. The Tach is still inoperative. But the Speedometer/Odometer was my primary concern. I assume that the Tachometer receives it's info from the Sensor on the Bell Housing. I may tackle that at a later date. I will post the results at that time. Thanks for your help.

I am currently using a gps for speed and a hubometer for mileage since I have been unable to get my speedometer/odometer fixed in a 2001 Western Star.
