Did You test coolant for oil contamination?

Using oil and poor cold starting can be indicators of worn piston bores and rings.
The little oil leak can also be a bit of oil gathering in the breather then dripping/blowing out because of extra sump compression caused by the worn piston/bores.
It should however have no effect on coolant level.

    mp4694330 Thanks this.

if truck is cold & you check coolant ,it would be lower than when it is warm. more pressure raises the coolant level.

This higher coolant level you mention.
Is this just a once off happening.
I mean if you remove the 1 inch of coolant does it return or is it just a once off 1 inch rise in level that is bothering you?
