I would love to have a new truck but I am not very excited about the new Cummins SCR engine. I have heard they use a lot of oil and they are always having check engine lights and regen problems, and oil in the particulate filter just to name a few. I would love to hear some good reviews if there are any. My current truck has a 6NZ Cat in it and it is a great motor. I love my Cat. I am in no means a Cummins guy but it's not like I have much of a choice. I would rather own a Cummins than a Paccar MX motor. My only other option would be to put a passive pm filter on my Cat. I would love to hear from someone who has done this and hear how their motor is doing since they installed it on their truck. Any information that anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I've got 93,xxx on my 2013. Only issues so far have been the radiator which wasn't a Cummins issue. It did regen frequently until Cummins released a update. Oil use varies. It used a gallon every 8,000 miles for the first 30,000 then it slowed to about every 15,000 and now it's back to every 8-9,000.

Are you happy with the power it has? What kind of fuel mileage have you been getting with it?

Stop putting gas in it. Try diesel. Or come up here to Canada. Our gallons are bigger than yours ...
