Hi. I have a Bendix Air Compressor on a CAT C15, that is leaking air from the safety valve on top of the compressor. It is causing the air compressor to run all the time. Any ideas on what it could be? Thanks.

Without a picture I'm not sure, but it sounds like a unloader valve. I would replace it first before I bought a complete compressor.

If the pressure is not too high, then the brass safety valve is just leaking....not the governor. Assuming you mean the brass 7/8 socket size valve screwed in the side of the compressor head.

I replaced the brass safety valve, and it is still leaking a little bit. It's a lot better than before, where before it was constantly leaking at high pressure. Now, I can hear it just a little bit, with the parking brake on, but it seems to go away when, I release parking and trailer brakes..Is this normal? Thanks.

Most any Pete, KW dealer, or TruckPro, Fleetpride, and maybe Cat(but would probably be more expensive).

Cat has a updated unloader valve it has the oring on the out side of the plunger instead of the inside, I have replaced the old style on a BSX and a MXS so don't when they started coming with the newer design.
I just ordered them both times and got the newer ones with out asking.

    puncher Thanks this.
